A Message From The Past

Hello All,

I saw this at the end of a movie, and I believe it says quite a bit. I hope you enjoy it, too.

"If you are able,
save for them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they
can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying
and keep it with your own.
And in that time
when men decide and feel safe
to call war insane,
take one moment to embrace
those gentle heroes
you left behind."

I love you all,

Will

PS - I am going to Baghdad to personally shoot that paper hanging son of a bitch!

This rant made me cry so hard. How do you deal with the pain I feel? I am sitting here at home unable to stop crying? Thank you for bringing your feelings to us. We as civilians, need to know your thoughts so that we can reality check ourselves, daily.
God Bless You, much love-Brooke

You 2 Brazillian jackasses can go soak your fucking heads in Coffee. More people will be dead at the hands of Saddam Hussein in 0ne year than in this entire conflict. It figures the United States and Britan would have to stand up and do something about this manic. The rest of you punk ass countries are worthless. There will be peace for people who havent ever known it when this is over. Thanks to the U.S ....again. There are alot of short convienient memories of these other countries we seem to have to historically bail out ( not mentioning any names....FRANCE !!) God Bless the troops and God Bless President Bush. U.S.A...U.S.A

Hey Will, great website. If your ever in Portland, Oregon...look me up and I'll buy you a cold one. Could even help you look for a civilian technology position here in Portland.

I noticed that your a computer geek so we have that in common. Keep up the good work and may God keep you well.

Kill as many of those rats as you can and always remember that most people cheer when the captain says, "were now entering US airspace"!! Not hard to figure out why they all want to come here after being over there-huh?

Your page is great. I am so proud of all of you guys (and gals) who are fighting for the freedom of the people on this planet. Remember that a lot more of us here at home support you than the media lets on. We aren't all America hating hippies. Pop a cap in Saddams ass!

I have this book of poetry.I bought it when I was 13 years old, I'm 30 now.I love this poem- A Message From The Past.I was sort of obsessed w/ Vietnam when I was a kid, not sure why.I feel a close connection to those who have been in war.I wish we we were not in this war and I wish you didn't have to know the things you know now.I do respect and support you, in my own way even though I don't support our president and his administration. Please take care.Thoughts with you.

i support my fellow americans. but really. how can we ever grow and be decent human beings if we are calling other human beings (yes, those people you are fighting are human) rats and/or paper hanging sons of a bitch? i am ashamed we can not liberate a people without degrading them.

Posted by: jillyn on March 26, 2003 08:22 PM

Apparently, jillyn never saw one of the greatest films of all time... "PATTON." Will was referring to one person, Saddam, you moron, not the whole of the Iraqis.

Loved the quote, Will. Old Blood and Guts would be proud of you boys (and girls)!

All you anti-American fucks and protesters should go suck on Uncle Saddam's vX, etc.!

Posted by: UiRuaidhri on March 26, 2003 08:42 PM

Most of Americans are praying for you and all the troops. I beleave that those not supporting all you are doing should keep there thoughts to them selfs. This is not the time to show such disrespct. May God Bless each and everyone of you and get you home safe. They say pray for your enamys and im trying real hard to pray for those being so rude on here.

I'm really sad to see that US soldiers are down in Irak, but also sad for the civil people. I cannot understand this war, perhaps only US people understand it...or think they are understanding...and at least, when they understand, it is too late.

Do you really want this war ? or it is just cause Mr Bush told you to do it ...without to give any real information (you still did not find any chimical or bacterial, but you have Atomical, you in the states...and bush is the same dictator as Saddam...)

Please open your eyes and stop to be so dumb....

Posted by: Moa on March 26, 2003 11:32 PM

enny meenie miney...hey MOA

wrong spot, cousin. This is not a place
for you to argue. This is a place to show
respect to the men and women who are
saving our lives right now. You're more than
welcome to take that french noise out to
the bbc international forums with the
rest of the amnesiatic euro-trash.

Beat it: NOW please.

While I don't support the Bush administration or this war, I fully support our troops abroad. Come home safe! I'm proud of your courage.

Dear friend,
first of all sorry about my italian/english language!
I'm with you all, sincerely with my heart. On last Summer I visited Normandy beaches and from the deep of my heart I sent a big thank you to all the boys that landed there on 1944: thanks to those boys I'm still living in a democratic country, in that country that - what a shame for us - started the conflict. There's no doubt about your valorous and honourable courage as US marines, respected and feared by the entire world; I give respect to you but I can't understand the way how US started this war. Thanks to God, I've never lived a war but my father did, and through his tales I swore to myself to be always against wars. I'm neither with Saddam nor with all those politicians that decide the future of our lives sitted on the back of a desk. It's easy for them to command you.
That's why I hope the war will end soon and that you all may go back home and stay with your families. I also hope the Iraqi people will have the courage to say stop to Saddam and his cruelty.
Whatever He's named, God bless you all, marines and iraquis!
Ciao from Italia

Will,

Thank you for reminding me what a great country the US of A really is, and that the only "agenda" we Americans have is the knowledge that all men (women, children) are created equal, and that all persons are allowed the right to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, no matter what spot of of terra firma they chose to call home.

God bless America, guide our leaders and give strength to the soldiers who actively place their lives on the line for the ideals of our founding fathers.....and thank you for a great sense of humor!!

Posted by: Duckie on March 27, 2003 12:00 PM

in my defense:
1. I support our troops, their efforts and hope they return quickly and safe, without them all of our lives would be in danger in some way or another.
2. I DO NOT think that reffering to saddam (yes i knew the quote, but he is still a person, a sick, hateful one, but person), or any other middle eastern ppl (because the other part of my post was in response to someone else posting here calling them rats) by names other than their own is innappropriate. we are adults. how can we teach our children name calling is wrong if we do it ourselves daily?
3. are you in iraq to liberate, or kill? liberation is beatiful. our troops in the middle east helping the iragis are commendable. but any one. american or whatever who is there to exercise their need as an american to kill ppl different from them is shameful.
4. i was originally against this war. i no longer am. but i am in support only of our people going over there to help their people and the rest of the world. not to degrade, talk down to, think down to, etc.
5. be proud to be american. and let us hope that one day iraqis will have good reason again to be proud to be iraqi

That quote is awesome! Love it! Shows exactly how loved ones should feel about the soldiers going over seas. They should hold on to what is dear to them and know, that if their loved one dies, it was for the good of hundreds of Iraqi civilians who would have died at the hands of Sadaam Hussein.

God Bless You and Be With You Always!

It is men like you that make me proud to call myself an american. Some people may disagree with our countries choice to go to war (I am not one of them) but I honestly believe that they are all behind you Will.

The work you are doing will allow woman and children to live without fear and to praise any God they choose. That is a man that I would like to know. Let all of your fellow men know that we love and care about them to and wish them well.

STAY SAFE WILL

Who's Will Anyway?
What's All This Then?
As most of the regular readers of Rooba.net know, I have a few friends that have been sent or called up for the soon-to-be-conflict in Iraq. One such friend is Will aka Will not weasel or Will from Omaha or whatever other moniker he's using on my site that day.

Will is a pretty good writer and this is the collection of his writings. It'll be interesting to hear updates from a soldier's point of view, so I'll be posting them for all to read.

Take care Will
